Be – Hive Theatre Festival

The BE-HIVE Theatre Festival
At Medea Pictures, our passion for stage arts and cultural evolution finds its annual expression in the organization of the BE-HIVE Theatre Festival—an open, dynamic institution hosted at DROMOS Theatre.
Conceived as a true “Hive” (Kypseli) of creativity, the festival was born out of the need to redefine theatrical rules, experiment with new forms of scenic expression, and foster genuine human connection through art.
Bringing together artists, creators, and audiences, the BE-HIVE Theatre Festival stands as a vibrant platform for free expression, artistic interaction, and cultural dialogue.
A Platform for Innovation & Coexistence
The festival welcomes professional actors, dancers, directors, performers, and scholars from both Greece and abroad, offering a stage for both competitive and featured non-competitive works.
Our multidisciplinary programming spans a wide spectrum of performing and visual arts:
- Stage Performances: Theatre, contemporary dance, dance-theatre, musicals, cabaret, shadow theatre, stand-up comedy, and experimental works.
- Educational & Academic Actions: Specialized masterclasses, acting workshops, and scholarly lectures on performance theory and new media.
- Cultural Events: Book presentations, dramatic readings, film screenings, art exhibitions, and live music.
An Ever-Evolving Cultural Institution
With each annual edition, the BE-HIVE Theatre Festival continues to expand its reach—establishing itself as a permanent meeting point, a refuge for bold ideas, and an essential hub for the contemporary arts scene in Athens.
By providing full technical infrastructure, venue support, promotion, and awards evaluated by an acclaimed jury, Medea Pictures and DROMOS Theatre remain dedicated to empowering emerging and established artists alike, building a new, optimistic “Hive” for the future of theatre.
