ABOUT THE PLAY
Albert Best, a highly respectable bank assistant manager adhering to strict British standards—punctual, precise, and reliable—wakes up one morning and, for the first time in his life, decides not to go to work. Instead, he stays home to study music.
By doing so, he publicly declares that he will never return to his job, causing immense turmoil at the bank. With the help of the media, Albert Best is hailed as a hero for working-class employees, while simultaneously capturing the heart of his cold colleague, Beth Simons, who discovers similar sensibilities within herself.
Naturally, Wolf Bank does not leave matters to chance. Through a series of crisis-management tactics—including buyouts, favors for friends, and subtle threats—the bank maneuvers the situation to its own advantage.
